We are a church composed of <\/span>people<\/span> from many countries and church traditions. \u00a0 Our aim is to see what God says to us in his Word, the Bible. But we don\u2019t just want to hear the Word of God, we also want to do what it says. So as followers of Jesus we aim to grow more like our Savior as God wants us to.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a body of believers from diverse cultural and church traditions, we come together in our beliefs that are stated in the early creeds, the <\/span>Apostle\u2019s, Nicene, and Athanasian<\/span><\/i> creeds.\u00a0 We also believe in the 39 Articles of religion which were developed at the time of the Protestant Reformation. Here are a few areas that we affirm, and are stated throughout the creeds and articles:<\/span><\/p>\n

We believe in:<\/b><\/h4>\n

The Bible<\/b> \u2013 We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, and that it is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.<\/span><\/p>\n

One God<\/b> \u2013 We believe in one God, who is revealed in three co-existing persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Need of a Savior<\/b> \u2013 We believe all of humanity has failed to honor and obey God, and give him thanks as we are meant to, and as a result we are subject to God\u2019s wrath and condemnation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus Christ<\/b> is our Resurrected Savior<\/b> \u2013 We believe in Jesus Christ, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.<\/span>\u00a0 We believe He <\/span>died on the cross in the place of sinners, taking the punishment deserved by the whole world.<\/span> We also believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead in bodily form (and conquered death so that we may have life).<\/span><\/p>\n

The work of the Holy Spirit<\/b> \u2013 We believe it is only by the work of the Holy Spirit through the preaching of the Gospel that we can turn to God and trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins and eternal life.\u00a0 The <\/span>H<\/span>oly <\/span>S<\/span>pirit dwells in those who put their trust in Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n

The promised return of Jesus Christ<\/b> \u2013 we believe that Jesus Christ will return to judge the living and the dead, and that those who trust in Jesus Christ will share eternal life with him.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Our congregation is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem<\/a>, a diocese of the worldwide Anglican Communion.\u00a0 The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem is spread throughout Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and Palestine.\u00a0 Today, there are 27 parishes, about 30 priests, and 7,000 Anglicans across the Diocese. The Diocese has over 30 institutions spread across the different countries that it covers, including schools, hospitals and centers caring for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
